Voice actress Ryo Hirohashi has been revealed as the latest cast member for the currently airing Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube TV anime series. The anime originally premiered in Japan on July 2, 2025, and will continue for two split cours.
Hirohashi will provide the voice for a kasa-obake — a one-eyed umbrella yokai. This character is set to make an appearance in the anime’s 10th episode on September 3, 2025.

Yasuyuki Oishi (Mayonaka no Occult Koumuin assistant director) is helming the new anime, while Fumito Yamada (Hell’s Paradise Episode 8 director) serves as assistant director, Yoshiki Okusa (The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases co-scriptwriter) is contributing as series screenwriter, Yu Yoshiyama (Mahoutsukai Precure!! Mirai Days main animator) is the character designer, and Atsuko Takahashi (A Nobody’s Way Up to an Exploration Hero costume designer) is serving as assistant character designer.
Additional staff includes Hironori Tanaka and Kijimaru as yokai designers, Takahiro Kagami (Jigoku Sensei Nube OVA Episode 3 co-character designer, Bucchigiri?! character designer) and Yu Yoshiyama as action directors, Hitoshi Tamura (Natsume’s Book of Friends Season 7) as screen designer, and Evan Call (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as music composer. Studio Kai is responsible for the animation production.
The first cour of Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube premiered with a special one-hour launch on July 2, 2025, featuring the first two episodes airing consecutively. The second cour is scheduled to start broadcasting in January 2026 after a break this fall.

The original Jigoku Sensei Nube manga series is created by Sho Makura and illustrated by Takeshi Okano. It was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump starting on August 24, 1993, and continued until May 11, 1999. This was followed by Jigoku Sensei Nube NEO and Jigoku Sensei Nube S, along with spin-offs Reibaishi Izuna and Reibaishi Izuna: Ascension. A short series called Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube PLUS was released this year between May and June on Shonen Jump+. Another new manga titled Jigoku Sensei Nube Kai launched in Saikyo Jump on May 2, 2025.
A previous TV anime produced by Toei Douga (now Toei Animation) aired from 1996 to 1997. The manga also inspired a 10-episode live-action drama in 2014.
