Amutus, the operator of the Mecha Comic platform, and SB Creative, which publishes light novels under the GA Bunko and GA Novel labels, have partnered to form a new company named Mecha Comic GA. The company will focus on the planning, production, and sales of manga.
As stated in the announcement on October 16 JST, the establishment of Mecha Comic GA aims to enhance original IP creation and media mix developments. In addition to expanding its titles for both female and male audiences and improving the quality of manga through collaboration with SB Creative, Amutus hopes to generate new hit IPs that can transition into other media formats, such as anime adaptations and merchandise.
Mecha Comic features manga from various publishers, including Kodansha and Alphapolis, as well as works from multiple original labels. Several of these originals have been adapted into dramas, both long and short-form, such as Rinko-san wa Shitemitai and RISKY ~Fukushuu wa Tsumi no Aji~. Most of the original labels target female readers.
SB Creative has experienced anime adaptations for many of its titles, with upcoming projects like Noble Reincarnation ~Born Blessed, So I’ll Obtain Ultimate Power~, The Holy Grail of Eris, and I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand. Other anime adaptations based on SB Creative works include My Friend’s Little Sister Has It In for Me!, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten, and Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
