©空知英秋／劇場版銀魂製作委員会The Gintama franchise is set to release an exciting new anime film, subtitled Yoshiwara Daienjo, in 2026. A teaser trailer along with a teaser visual has been unveiled.
The film (Shingekijoban Gintama -Yoshiwara Daienjo-) will adapt the “Yoshiwara Enjo” arc, which was previously depicted in the TV series from Episode 139 to 146, while also incorporating fresh content designed for the theatrical experience.

• Character designer and chief animation director: Shinji Takeuchi (Gintama)
• Animation production: BN Pictures
Tomokazu Sugita, Daisuke Sakaguchi, and Rie Kugimiya will reprise their roles as Gintoki Sakata, Shinpachi Shimura, and Kagura, respectively.

The year 2026 will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Gintama TV anime, which first aired three years after the manga began in 2003.
The anime series concluded in 2018 after airing for four seasons. It also includes several films, such as 2021’s Gintama THE FINAL and recent theatrical re-releases of anime arcs under the Gintama on Theater 2D title.
Hideaki Sorachi‘s Gintama manga from Shueisha published its 77th and final tankobon volume in 2019. The series was primarily featured in Weekly Shonen Jump, with some later chapters appearing in Jump GIGA in 2019, and the final chapters being distributed through a Gintama app. A total of twenty-three volumes were released in English by Viz Media.
In addition to Shingekijoban Gintama -Yoshiwara Daienjo-, Gintama enthusiasts can anticipate the previously announced anime adaptation of the 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei spin-off.
