My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi has officially made his return to Weekly Shonen Jump with a brand-new one-shot manga titled Quit Laughing Shijima (Warawanaide yo Shijima-san). The one-shot was featured in the magazine’s combined Issue #37/38, released in Japan on August 10. It is also accessible on the MANGA Plus by Shueisha website.

This latest work signifies Horikoshi’s first manga published in Weekly Shonen Jump since the end of My Hero Academia in August 2024. The superhero series ran for a decade following its debut in 2014, establishing itself as one of the magazine’s flagship titles with over 100 million copies in circulation globally. It also spawned multiple anime seasons, films, spin-offs, and games. Additionally, another new anime, a short focused on Eri, premiered last week.

The same issue of Weekly Shonen Jump is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Osamu Akimoto’s KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops (Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo). To commemorate this milestone, horror novelist Settsu, known for works such as About a Certain Place in the Kinki Region and The Mouth Survey, oversaw a special KochiKame feature article.
