Ranma 1/2 Season 2 Premieres on October 4, Reveals New Theme Song Artists

The primary opening and closing theme song artists have been announced for the upcoming second season of Ranma 1/2, which is set to premiere in Japan on October 4, 2025. The anime will also be available for streaming on Netflix globally following its television broadcast in Japan. 
The Japanese music group Wednesday Campanella is performing the new opening theme song “Wo Aini,” while singer-songwriter Nishina will be delivering the ending theme song “Panda Girl.”

In addition, a brief recap video summarizing the first season has also been published. 

Some returning staff for the second season include Konosuke Uda as director, Hiromi Taniguchi as character designer and co-chief animation director, Kimiko Ueno as series screenwriter, and Kaoru Wada as music composer. MAPPA is overseeing the animation production. 
Nao Naito and Rie Aoki are recognized as main animators, with Masahiro Kurio also joining as a new main animator.

The first 12-episode season launched in Japan on October 5, 2024, concluding on December 22, 2024. It has been streaming exclusively on Netflix. The new adaptation is the second remake of a Takahashi manga, succeeding the four-cour Urusei Yatsura anime series. 
Rumiko Takahashi’s original Ranma 1/2 manga series was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday from August 19, 1987, to March 6, 1996. A total of 38 tankobon volumes were published during its run. 
The manga initially inspired an 18-episode anime that debuted in 1989, followed by Ranma 1/2: Nettou-hen, which aired from 1989 to 1992 with a total of 143 episodes.
