This article explores the history and cultural significance of facial hair in Japan, as well as the different styles and social acceptance of facial hair on Japanese men. It is concluded that while facial hair may not be widely accepted by mainstream society yet, those who wish to express themselves through growing out their beard or moustache should do so. Proper grooming habits are essential when doing so in order to avoid any potential backlash.
