Light novels from Yen Press‘ Yen On imprint have started appearing on Tapas, the webcomic and novel platform featuring titles like The Beginning After the End (published in print by Yen Press), Solo Leveling, and The Dragon Slayer’s Regression on Another Level, as part of a new partnership.
Similar to other Tapas titles, the Yen On light novels will be divided into “episodes.” The first five episodes will be available for free, with subsequent ones accessible immediately for a fee or for free later for non-paying readers. Yen Press has announced that new episodes will be released daily following a title’s debut.
In terms of new title additions, users can expect them to be released monthly. However, the exact number of titles arriving with each wave remains uncertain.
Among the initial wave of Yen On titles are The Eminence in Shadow, Overlord, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, The Summer Hikaru Died, and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Currently, Tapas has highlighted these in an event called Mega Hit Light Novels Festival, and they have also dominated the site’s novel rankings based on popularity. The adaptation of Mokumokuren‘s The Summer Hikaru Died manga, possibly boosted by the recent TV anime adaptation, currently ranks at number one.

Yen Press President Kurt Hassler, in a prepared statement, described the partnership as “an opportunity that lets some of our biggest properties find new readers who already love and use the Tapas site, while preexisting fans of these series gain another accessible way to read their favorite titles and discover new ones as well.”
