Voice actress Yuko Kaida will be featured in the series as Zelena, the youngest daughter of the Macaque tribe’s royal family, known as “The Wise Princess.”

This character is described in the press release as “a cursed god born through a phenomenon known as ‘Shinpen.’” Kunihiro Mori (Phantom in the Twilight) is set to direct the anime, while Tomoyasu Ookubo serves as series screenwriter and Kenji Fujisawa (Baki Hanma 2020) composes the music. Asahi Production is responsible for the animation production.

The series originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on August 7, 2017, penned by Tsukasa Tanimai. It was subsequently published as a light novel series under Shufu to Seikatsu Sha’s PASH! Books label on March 30, 2018, featuring new illustrations by Kawano. Three volumes had been released by June 2019. J-Novel Club distributes the light novels in English digitally.
A manga adaptation created by Shunsuke Aoyama began in 2018 and has issued 13 tankobon volumes as of April 2025.
