The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup Semifinal debuted in October 2024 as a continuation of 2022’s The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup.
The Prince of Tennis initially started as a manga series by Takeshi Konomi in 1999, with its sequel, The Prince of Tennis II (The New Prince of Tennis in Japan), launching in Shueisha’s Jump Square in 2009. The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup represents the first The Prince of Tennis II TV anime since 2012.
Crunchyroll outlines the anime’s premise as follows:
When tennis prodigy Ryoma Echizen is expelled from Japan’s elite U-17 training camp for breaking the regulations, he feels devastated. However, he gets a stroke of good fortune when he gets the chance to audition for the U.S. team. Proving his worth against their seasoned veterans will not be simple, and if he gets accepted, he’ll have to compete against his old friends. Can he assist his new teammates in winning?
