© 嵩乃朔 / Waterfall All rights reserved.The opening movie for The Vampire’s Bride: The Novel Game, an anticipated indie visual novel inspired by the theme of “Vampires x Military Uniforms x girls’ love” and set during the Meiji era, has been unveiled by developer Waterfall.
Accompanied by the song “Wisteria” (sung by cast member Yuka Aisaka), the opening movie showcases six individuals from a werewolf-hunting military squad that pairs the vampiric Vampdolls with Bride Thorns, human girls who provide their source of blood. Some (if not all) of the visuals had previously been shared in a teaser movie released in March.
The Vampire’s Bride: The Novel Game is currently planned for release in 2025 on Steam and DLSite. There will be two versions on Steam, one in Japanese and another featuring English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese support. The latter version will be published by mirai works, while Waterfall will handle the self-publishing of the Japanese version.
The game is part of a broader dojin initiative that also includes a manga, voice drama, and novel. The manga’s artist Sakaki Yoshioka is contributing to the visual novel under their alternate alias Saku Takano.

Here’s a synopsis of the game:
The era is Meiji.
Sana Shirafuji, who has lost her grandmother and finds herself alone in the world,
approaches the military to become a “Bride Thorn” to support herself.
A “Bride Thorn” serves as a “resource” for girls known as “Vampdolls”,
who excel in combat.
Unaware of this, Sana signs the military contract in her desperation.
On her first day in service, she encounters
Yukine Hanafusa, a stunning but scornful Vampdoll.
Over time, Sana and Yukine begin to connect with one another.
During the first night of blood drinking,
they realize that the act of consuming blood induces both physical and emotional thrill.
Despite their awkwardness, they share their initial blood drinking experience together.
Later on, Yukine becomes incapacitated during a particular mission…
