Season two initially launched in Japan on July 6, 2025, with its 13th overall episode. The 18th episode (sixth episode in season two) is set to air on August 10, 2025.
Yohei Fukui (Bakugan: Evolutions assistant director, Toilet Bound Hanako-kun Episode 10 director) is helming the second season, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Toilet Bound Hanako-kun) serving as series screenwriter and Mayuka Ito (Toilet Bound Hanako-kun) appointed as character designer. Lerche continues to oversee animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s primary voice cast features:

The second season, along with the spinoff short anime series After-school Hanako-kun, was part of a new Hanako-kun project first announced in December 2022. The initial season of Toilet Bound Hanako-kun aired in 2020 and lasted for 12 episodes. The first season of After-school Hanako-kun included four 10-minute episodes that were released in 2023. The short series’ second season debuted with another four episodes, starting on October 7, 2024.
The anime is adapted from the manga by the creative duo AidaIro (comprising writer Iro and illustrator Aida), which began serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly G Fantasy magazine on June 18, 2014. As of June 2025, twenty-four tankobon volumes have been published. Yen Press handles the English release of the manga for North America.
The After-school Hanako-kun spinoff manga launched in 2018 and has released two tankobon volumes as of February 2024, with Yen Press also releasing the series in English.
