Ⓒにいさとる/講談社 Ⓒ2025「WIND BREAKER」製作委員会The live-action Wind Breaker film has launched its main trailer, showcasing an abundance of melee combat and the recently revealed BE:FIRST theme song, “Stay Strong.”
This live-action version of Satoru Nii’s manga is set to premiere in Japan on November 5 JST. The role of protagonist Haruka Sakura is played by Koshi Mizukami, while Kentaro Hagiwara (notable for directing Tokyo Ghoul and Blue Period live-action films) is at the helm.
The manga began serialization on Magazine Pocket in 2021 and has reached 23 volumes as of September 2025. Kodansha USA summarizes its story as follows:
Haruka Sakura seeks to distance himself from the weak—he’s only focused on the strongest contenders. He hails from Fuurin High School, a place notorious for its rough-and-tumble atmosphere and brawling reputation. In a town perpetually embroiled in territorial conflicts, Haruka’s singular ambition is to become the hero that his community requires.
Two seasons of anime have been released, with the second airing during the Spring 2025 anime schedule.
