In the midst of a cold war, master spy Loid Forger adopts Anya, a telepathic orphan, and marries Yor, a deadly assassin, to create the perfect cover for his mission.
Loid may not be a biological father, but his commitment to safeguarding Anya and providing a nurturing home shines through his stoic facade.
While his primary focus may be on his mission, he gradually learns the intricacies of fatherhood and ultimately becomes the standout character in this touching spy comedy.
2. Buddy Daddies (for Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa):

Two professional assassins, Kazuki and Rei, unexpectedly find themselves raising a young girl named Miri. This unconventional family tackles the trials of parenthood while juggling their perilous careers.
The contrasting personalities of Kazuki and Rei, alongside their unique styles of caregiving, create a delightful and heartwarming dynamic that sets them apart as a memorable father figure duo. You can just keep looking at Rei throughout the anime for all I care!

This series is quite similar to Spy x Family, and with two equally charming father figures, it makes for the perfect choice for a Father’s Day binge session! Two is better than one – as Taylor Swift famously sang in her song!
3. Kakushigoto (for the totally committed single dad – Kakushi)

This is an underrated anime that I believe everyone should watch. The story revolves around Kakushi Goto, a manga artist known for his risqué work, who keeps his profession a secret from his young daughter, Hime.
He goes to great lengths to shield her from the truth, weaving a tapestry of absurd lies and mix-ups to preserve her innocence.
Kakushi’s protective nature and immense love for Hime make him an engaging and relatable father figure. It’s a heartfelt and amusing journey and undoubtedly one of the most wholesome shows on the list. I really feel for Kakushi; I can relate to that guy!!
4. Barakamon (for Handa Seishu):

Ah yes, Barakamon is among my all-time favorites, an anime I frequently revisit! The story follows Handa, a gifted but arrogant calligrapher, who is exiled to a remote island after physically confronting an art critic.
This unfamiliar environment transforms him as he learns to appreciate the small joys in life. The laid-back town and its inhabitants impart valuable life lessons, and he gradually sheds his haughty attitude.
His interactions with the lively Naru are certainly the highlight of the show.
Now, while Handa Seishu may not be a biological or adoptive father, he entirely embodies the role of a mentor to a young Naru (willingly or not) and wins hearts in the process.
5. My Home Hero – (for the fiercely protective Tetsuo Tosu):

Tetsuo Tosu is an ordinary salaryman who doesn’t fit the mold of a mastermind hero. However, when he discovers that his daughter is being mistreated by her boyfriend (with Yakuza connections), he takes drastic actions to protect her.
These actions lead him down a dark path. Tetsuo’s fierce dedication to his daughter and his readiness to do anything to keep her safe present him as a complex and compelling father figure.
Trust me, this anime gives off serious Drishyam vibes, and if you enjoy thrilling series, this is a must-watch!
6. My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer (for the uber supportive Belgrieve):

Next on our list is an anime for fantasy enthusiasts!
The young adventurer Belgrieve retires to a quieter life after losing his leg to a beast. During a herb-gathering excursion in the woods, he rescues an abandoned child, Angeline, and decides to adopt her.
Angeline trains alongside her father and eventually rises to S-Rank in the capital’s adventurer guild. Five years later, she chooses to return home.
Belgrieve’s unwavering love for his daughter and pride in her achievements embodies a heartwarming example of a supportive father figure.
