Anime Tokyo Station Plans Special Exhibition for 'Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-'

Anime Tokyo Station, an exhibition site dedicated to Japanese anime content, is set to host a special exhibition for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, which premiered in theaters worldwide prior to its TV broadcast. The showcase will run from May 24 to August 11 at the Ikebukuro event space, which has attracted 156,458 visitors (as of April 13), including both children and adults, from Japan and abroad.

The newest chapter in the Gundam series, directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, has created substantial excitement for being the very first collaboration between studio khara, recognized for the Evangelion franchise, and Sunrise, the studio responsible for Gundam. The pre-broadcast theatrical cut, featuring re-edited episodes from GQuuuuuuX, has already captivated 2.02 million viewers and amassed 3.34 billion yen at the box office, indicating considerable anticipation and popularity even before the anime’s official airing (from Jan. 17-March 30, 2025). The theatrical release was handled in North America by GKIDS in February.

The special exhibition at Anime Tokyo Station will present key scenes from the anime that recall memorable moments from the theatrical pre-release. Attendees can also enjoy character standees, including the main character, Amate Yuzuriha (MACHU), and mobile suits, along with photo spots that recreate iconic scenes from the anime, alongside valuable production materials like original scripts. A special corner will allow visitors to capture AR photos with motifs inspired by characters from the anime — delivering a one-of-a-kind Anime Tokyo Station experience.
