The Call of the Night anime is inspired by the manga created by Kotoyama that started in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in 2019 and published its 20th and final tankoubon volume in March 2024. Viz outlines the story as follows: One sleepless night, Ko goes out to explore the streets. Life at night becomes an insightful experience! When the charming Nazuna invites Ko to her abandoned building for the night, he’s excited! But he awakes to kisses on his neck that seem to bite a little too harshly… Is it merely the enticing flavor of his blood that brings her back to him for late-night escapades, deep conversations, and…naps? Or is there more? Then, when an adorable girl from Ko’s past arrives vying for his affection, his growing bond with the undead is challenged!
Season 1 debuted in July 2022. Season 2 was confirmed in March 2024 and released a teaser trailer in March of this year. HIDIVE recently announced that it will stream Season 2 in the Summer 2025 anime season.
