A fresh key visual, trailer, and additional cast have been disclosed for the current The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows TV anime series, showcasing the program’s upcoming “Royal Institute of Healing” narrative arc. This narrative arc is set to commence with the eighth episode on May 22, 2025. The anime originally debuted in Japan on April 3, 2025, and will span 12 episodes.

Joe Yoshizaki (FLOW GLOW debut PV unit director, Goddess of Victory: Nikke “Miracle Snow” special video director) is at the helm of the anime series, with Parkji-seung (animation director credits on shows like THE IDOLM@STER MILLION LIVE!, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun) as assistant director, Taika Miyagi as screenwriter, and denpuougi and Yoshihiro Sawada as character designers. Makaria is responsible for the animation production for the series, where Yoshizaki also acts as president.
The series commenced as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro on November 30, 2020, composed by Sakaku Hishikawa. It was subsequently published as a light novel by SB Creative on October 14, 2021, featuring new illustrations by Daburyu. Eight volumes have been launched as of March 2025. J-Novel Club has licensed the light novels and manga adaptation for digital release in English, with a print version expected in August.
The manga adaptation by Junoichi was first serialized in GA Comic on January 22, 2022. Four tankobon volumes have been issued as of November 2024, with a fifth volume scheduled for release on June 15, 2025. It is also anticipated to receive a print release from J-Novel Club in July.

Banished as “useless,” Zenos, a self-taught healer from the slums, transitions despair into defiance and initiates a covert clinic in the city’s shadows.
