Additionally, it was revealed that the new opening theme will be “SUPERNOVA” performed by KANA-BOON, and that Megumi Han and Reigo Yamaguchi are joining the cast as Chelsea and Leonard, respectively.
Dr. Stone: Science Future‘s first cour kicked off on January 9 JST. The animated series is set to conclude the Dr. Stone adaptation and will be released over three split cours.
The Dr. Stone animated series is derived from the manga published by Shueisha, written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, which was serialized from 2017 to 2022 in Weekly Shonen Jump and consists of 26 tankoubon volumes. Viz Media summarizes the manga’s storyline as follows: One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he’s not alone! His science-loving friend Senku’s been up and running for a few months and he’s got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!

The initial season of the Dr. Stone anime premiered in 2019. Following that, the third season, Dr. Stone: New World, began its first cour in April 2023, with the second cour starting in October 2023.
