Based in Japan, the TV streamer ABEMA, which is part of the Cyber Agent Group, has announced the launch of a new initiative called “Project PRISMation.” This project aims to partner with the next generation of anime creators to develop completely new and original anime works, aligning with the platform’s 10th anniversary year.
Since its launch in April 2016, ABEMA has offered Japan’s only 24-hour news channel, excelling in breaking news coverage while providing a diverse array of programs, including original dramas, dating reality shows, animation, and sports. Over the years, ABEMA has streamed a variety of popular anime series and produced original shows such as Say You to Yo Asobi and SHIBUYA ANIME BASE, which has featured exclusive interviews with a wide range of industry professionals.
In addition to digital programming, ABEMA has organized large-scale offline events, like the ABEMA Anime Festival. This cultural celebration has showcased talks, sessions, and screenings that highlight emerging creators and the burgeoning world of independent animation.
Project PRISMation — a fusion of the terms “prism” and “animation” to illustrate a space where diverse talents can merge their unique perspectives to shine more brightly — will enable ABEMA to collaborate with individual creatives and small teams from around the globe to bring unique concepts to life as anime pilot films.

The project’s inaugural lineup features three creative groups from Asia, each recognized for their distinct artistry and daring visual styles. To initiate the endeavor, Zemyata and Uguisu Kobo have each produced original pilot films for new anime projects, while rapitus has teamed up with ABEMA to create an entirely new video inspired by their viral short:
Poppin-Play Kitchen
First up is Zemyata, a creator based in Thailand recognized for vibrant color schemes and dark, pop-inspired realms, presenting Poppin-Play Kitchen. His prior works include music videos for Eve MV and Alice Shach and the Magic Orchestra.
“Having worked mostly with music videos, I’m very excited to debut my first dialog-based project!” Zemyata remarked. “As a huge horror enthusiast, I always strive to blend the ‘cute’ and the ‘scary.’ I hope our little web series pilot, Poppin-Play Kitchen, achieves both!”
Synopsis: “Welcome back, boys and girls!” Enter the charming doll-like universe of Poppin-Play Kitchen! Your adorable hosts, P-chan, C-chan, and U-chan, are all set to take you on an extraordinary culinary adventure! Left at the mercy of larger-than-life Stage Hands, impossible recipes, and an unseen audience, will our lovely hosts survive this peculiar cooking program? …Or will they ‘POP’ under pressure? Next is Uguisu Kobo, an independent animation collective from Japan, primarily comprised of graduates from Musashino Art University’s Department of Imaging Arts and Sciences. Each member contributes their experience from the animation, gaming, and film sectors, with credits including Marco & the Galaxy Dragon and NHK’s Minna no Uta “Chanchanko ~KANREK160~.” Together, they have created The Horrors’ Horror Home.
“This is a short animated piece that humorously portrays the day-to-day life of a peculiar three-member family, interweaving common tropes from both Japanese and Western horror as well as nods to iconic horror films,” the collective remarked about their project. “Its fast-paced narrative and unique atmospheric art style are standout features!”
Synopsis: An ancient vampire, who has fed on human blood for centuries, encounters a modern Japanese wraith that casts curses via television screens. These two entities, transcending the divide of East and West, enter a covenant of love that results in the birth of a daughter who inherits their blood and terror…
The vampire father… Dracule! The wraith mother… Sayako! And their daughter… Alice! (And don’t forget the enigmatic cat, Dark Matter!) Welcome to the chilling, hair-raising domestic saga of the Horrors family, where every day is a scream!
Gluttomy
Lastly, the lineup features rapitus, a creator duo from Vietnam made up of Ra Pis and Tus, known for their fusion of surreal humor and eye-catching design aesthetics. Beginning with small independent projects, they debuted their original Children Under the Reed Field on YouTube and have since explored their distinctive styles in short-form content. Their collaboration with ABEMA is derived from their viral animated short, Gluttomy.
“Gluttomy represents the first passionate project we’ve brought to life, and we hope our pink twins deliver as much enjoyment to you as they brought us!” they expressed in their announcement.
Synopsis: Appel, a diligent scholarship student, arrives at an elite private high school ready to embark on an academic adventure. But unforeseen chaos awaits him. Enter the enigmatic pink-haired twins, Glista and Glyde, who are deeply fascinated by Appel. They’re sweet, cheerful, and making their way into every aspect of his life.
As his once-quiet routine starts to unravel, will Appel discover the twins’ true intentions before his world falls apart? The line between curiosity and madness is razor-thin, and the worm is already at the core of the apple.
All three works will premiere over three consecutive weeks starting Friday, January 16 on ABEMA and the official Project PRISMation social media channels.

The Project PRISMation initiative will continue beyond 2026, expanding its collaborations annually with a diverse array of creators.
