Image source: Gundam channelThe Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Urdr-Hunt -Path of the little Challenger- compilation film isn’t the only Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans-related anime project set to arrive soon — it’s been revealed that an Iron-Blooded Orphans short, named Makuai no Kusabi, will be shown alongside the compilation.
This new short takes place after the Arbrau election and features the return of familiar staff like director Tatsuyuki Nagai, writer Mari Okada (IBO‘s series composer), character designer Michinori Chiba, and mechanical designers Naohiro Washio and Kanetake Ebikawa.
Kengo Kawanishi and Yoshimasa Hosoya are set to reprise their roles as Mika and Orga, respectively.
A trailer for both -Path of the little Challenger- and Makuai no Kusabi was unveiled with the announcement, along with a main visual for the latter. Take a look below:

The announcement was made in late July (prior to that, an Urdr-Hunt animation project was revealed in November 2023) and will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Iron-Blooded Orphans. The original Urdr Hunt was a spin-off game featuring anime clips — 12 episodes were launched through the now-defunct smartphone app Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans G, with the first airing in 2022. According to the Gundam Wiki, the premise states:
It is the year P.D. 323. Gjallarhorn’s political meddling in Arbrau escalated into armed conflict, ending thanks to Tekkadan.
News of Tekkadan’s accomplishments has reached Wistario Afam, a young man born and raised at the Radonitsa Colony near Venus. Venus, which was outdone by Mars in initial colony development, is a distant planet in which the four economic blocs show little interest. It is currently utilized as a prison for criminals, and its residents lack even IDs.
Wistario, aiming to alter the situation in his homeland, meets a girl who claims to be the guide to the “Urdr-Hunt”.
Meanwhile, the Iron-Blooded Orphans anime series debuted in 2015 and concluded in 2017 with two seasons. Netflix describes the series as:
On a terraformed post-disaster Mars, a group of child security agents revolts against the adults who deceived them and the oppressive Earth government.
