This was paired with the announcement of the anime’s premiere date set for January 2026.
Chained Soldier is inspired by the dark fantasy ecchi action manga series published by Shueisha, created by Takahiro and illustrated by Yohei Takemura, which started its serialization on Shonen Jump+ in 2019 and consists of 19 volumes as of September 2025. Yen Press summarizes the manga as follows:
Decades ago, portals to a perilous dimension known as Mato-the “Demon City”-emerged throughout Japan. Those who consumed the “peaches” that grew there acquired extraordinary abilities-but only if they are female. When down-on-his-luck high schooler Yuuki Wakura inadvertently enters a portal, he is rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the striking commander of the 7th squad of the Demon Defense Force, who…commands him to become her slave?!
The inaugural season of Chained Soldier was aired during the Winter 2024 anime season.
