The preview includes a glimpse of the newly revealed opening song “Kamei Douchuu” by AINA THE END and a first look at Momo dressed in a maid outfit.
DAN DA DAN Season 2 is scheduled to debut on Japanese television and Netflix on July 3 (with Crunchyroll also set to stream it in July). Ahead of this, a theatrical release of the first three episodes titled DAN DA DAN: EVIL EYE will take place.
DAN DA DAN is adapted from the sci-fi occult manga published by Shueisha, authored by Yukinobu Tatsu, which launched on Shonen Jump+ in 2021 and had 19 tankoubon volumes as of April 2025. Viz Media characterizes the manga as:
Momo Ayase forms an unexpected friendship with her school’s UFO enthusiast, whom she affectionately calls “Okarun” because his name cannot be spoken aloud. Momo has faith in spirits but dismisses aliens as mere myth. In contrast, her new companion believes entirely the opposite. To resolve their debates, they embark on a journey to validate their beliefs—Momo to a location known for UFO sightings and Okarun to a haunted tunnel! What transpires is a touching narrative of youthful romance… alongside strangely lascivious aliens and spirits?
