A brief anime series inspired by the Hokuto no Ken: Ken’o-gun Zako-tachi no Banka gag manga was unveiled last weekend and is set to make its debut in Japan in January 2026. A fresh key visual and teaser trailer for the short anime were also unveiled. At the time of writing, no production staff for the series has been announced.

The original Fist of the North Star manga, composed by Buronson and illustrated by Tetsuo Hara, was serialized in Shuiesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 13, 1983, to August 8, 1988. A total of 27 tankobon volumes were released in Japan originally.

The series has inspired two TV anime adaptations, several animated films, OVAs, a live-action film, stage plays, spinoff series, and video games.
