REMOW has announced the start of streaming the long-standing police comedy TV anime series KochiKame on the It’s Anime YouTube channel for viewers in the U.S. and Canada. For the first time, the series will be available in English, as it was not released in North America previously. The company also refers to it by the English title Tokyo Beat Cops.
This anime series can be watched for free on the It’s Anime channel, with a new episode being available every Friday. All 373 episodes of the TV anime series are set to be uploaded on the YouTube channel.

The anime is adapted from Osamu Akimoto’s original manga series, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from September 21, 1976, to September 17, 2016. A total of 201 tankobon volumes were published. In addition to the TV anime, the manga led to three anime films released in 1985, 1999, and 2003.
REMOW outlines the central premise of KochiKame as follows:
Ryotsu Kankichi, commonly known as Ryo-san, is an unconventional police officer at the local precinct who has a passion for money. Alongside well-known personalities like Nakagawa and Reiko, his strict superior Police Chief Ohara, and other eccentric characters, he finds himself embroiled in various comical situations!
In addition to KochiKame, REMOW will also introduce the following anime titles on the It’s Anime YouTube channel for the U.S. and Canada:

The company plans to release the anime series My Little Monster and High School Kimengumi at a later time.
