It has been confirmed that this new season will be available for streaming worldwide on X (formerly Twitter), just like Season 1.
Additionally, the Hoshina’s Day Off special will make its Japanese broadcast debut on July 5 JST.
©防衛隊第3部隊 ©松本直也／集英社Kaiju No.8 is adapted from the manga published by Shueisha and created by Naoya Matsumoto, which started in 2020 on Shonen Jump+ and currently has 15 tankoubon volumes as of March 2025. VIZ Media describes the story as follows:
Kafka aspires to fulfill a promise made to his childhood friend Mina, aiming to join the Japan Defense Force and fight alongside her. However, while she battles kaiju as the Third Division captain, Kafka ends up cleaning up the mess left behind. When an unexpected rule change allows Kafka to join the Defense Force, he decides to apply to the squad once again. The catch? He’s been put on the neutralization list under the alias Kaiju No. 8.

The first anime season debuted in April 2024. A compilation, alongside Hoshina’s Day Off, was theatrically shown for three weeks starting March 28 JST. Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream Season 2.
Moreover, a Kaiju No.8 game from Akatsuki Games opened pre-registrations on April 26 JST and surpassed 200,000 global pre-registrations by May.
