The official Twitter/X account for the Let This Grieving Soul Retire! TV anime series has shared an update regarding the addition of two new cast members for the show’s second cour. The series started streaming on the d Anime Store and ABEMA services on October 4, 2025, with its TV broadcast commencing in Japan on October 6, 2025.
The latest cast members joining the series include Kiyono Yasuno as Artbaran Henning and Yuki Wakai as Mary Auden.

Additionally, Yasuno performs the opening theme song “Algorithm” for the second cour.
Masahiro Takata (The Family Circumstances of the Irregular Witch, The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World) is directing the anime series, with Hideki Shirane (The Duke of Death and His Maid, Date A Live Seasons 1 to 3) as screenwriter, and Yusuke Isochi (Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It) alongside Shingo Fujisaki (Skip and Loafer Episode 4 co-animation director, Undead Murder Farce Episodes 3, 4, and 13 co-animation director) as character designers. The animation production is being managed by ZERO-G.
The first cour premiered on select Japanese streaming services on September 29, 2024, and began its TV broadcast on October 1, 2024. It consisted of a total of 13 episodes. Crunchyroll, Muse Asia, and bilibili streamed the series outside of Japan.
The original light novel series is authored by Tsukikage and illustrated by Chyko. It was initially published by Micro Magazine’s GC Novels label on August 30, 2018, with 13 volumes released as of September 2025, which include a short story collection. J-Novel Club is now publishing the light novel series in English digitally after Sol Press’ license for the series expired in 2021.
