Additionally, it has been revealed that the film is set to premiere in Japan on October 10 JST.
©2025「秒速５センチメートル」製作委員会The 5 Centimeters Per Second anime premiered in 2007, featuring a duration of 63 minutes. The romance drama narrates its tale through three chapters, starting in the 1990s and concluding in the 21st century. According to Netflix, the premise is described as:
Inseparable fourth-graders Takaki Tonoo and Akari Shinohara – bonded by a love of books – begin to slowly drift apart when their families relocate.

The anime has also been novelized by Shinkai and has inspired a manga as well as the novel 5 Centimeters Per Second: One More Side, which presents Akari’s perspective.
