Following that, a TV broadcast premiere on WOWOW will occur on June 22, 2025. The new film represents the franchise’s first primary 2D animated feature film since Lupin the 3rd Dead Or Alive in 1996. The Lupin III franchise, which showcases the adventures of master thief Lupin III, originated from the manga series created by the late Monkey Punch, which was serialized in Futabasha’s Weekly Manga Action magazine from August 10, 1967, to May 22, 1969. Originally, there were 14 tankobon volumes published in Japan. Tokyopop acquired the manga for English release. Seven Seas Entertainment later released selected chapters in omnibus book format in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
