‘Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League’ to Premiere Exclusively on July 3

Today, Warner Bros. Discovery revealed that the DC anime sequel Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League will be available for streaming exclusively on Max starting on Thursday, July 3. This sequel builds upon the foundation of the 2018 animated feature Batman Ninja and continues to reimagine DC’s iconic Dark Knight through the striking visual style of Japanese anime. Along with the announcement of the premiere, new images were shared.

Synopsis: After returning to present-day Gotham City, Batman embarks on a journey back to feudal Japan to confront a daunting new adversary—the Yakuza League—formed from the twisted echoes of his former allies. Upon his arrival, he discovers a chaotic world where rival Yakuza factions clash, and violence dominates with a total absence of honor or compassion. Viewers can anticipate exhilarating action, remarkable artwork, and innovative takes on cherished DC characters in this entirely original narrative.

Helmed by returning director Jumpei Mizusaki and Shinji Takagi (Steamboy), with a script by Kazuki Nakashima (Promare), character designs by Takashi Okazaki, and music composed by Yugo Kanno, the creative team behind “Batman Ninja” comes together again for this sequel. Voice actor Koichi Yamadera once more lends his voice to the caped hero.

Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League is a production of Warner Bros. Japan in partnership with Kamikaze Douga, first introduced at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles.
