Otherworldly Munchkin is based on the manga written by Yu Shimizu and illustrated by Makoto Aogiri, which appears in Kodansha’s Suiyoubi no Sirius. Kodansha USA summarizes the premise as:
16-year-old Yukito Kirihara resides with his 14-year-old sister Sana, whom he cherishes above all. However, when an ogre appears outside his window in search of Sana (a shocking occurrence in itself), Yukito leaps to protect her—and meets his demise. He is offered the chance of reincarnation by a mysterious woman, who provides him with a character sheet in an enigmatic book. Upon discovering Sana’s name there as well, he embarks on a quest to locate her and rescue them both—even with only 1 hp at his disposal!
The manga’s 12th volume is scheduled for release on June 9 JST.
