This characteristic earns him the nickname “Toritsukare Otoko” from the locals. He has also developed a knack for rat communication after conversing with the street rat Cielo. One day, he falls for the balloon vendor Pechka and endeavors to ease her concerns with the help of Cielo and the diverse abilities he has acquired.
The novel was initially published in 2001 by Billiken. A bunkoban edition from Shinchosha followed in 2006.
