TV anime series have announced its primary ending theme song. The anime will debut in Japan on October 3, 2025.
The ending theme for the series is “Shirogarasu” by Japanese artist Nowlu. It was initially revealed during an advance screening for the anime’s first three episodes at Shinjuku Piccadilly Cinema this past Sunday.

Katsushi Sakurabi (Flying Witch, Lostorage incited WIXOSS, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?: Arrow of the Orion) is directing the anime, with Hiroshi Onogi (Blue Archive: The Animation [co-credits], Idol Memories) serving as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Yukie Suzuki (Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy) taking on character design. J.C.STAFF is responsible for the animation production.
The anime’s voice cast includes:

The anime adaptation is based on the fantasy light novel series penned by Meikyou Shisui and illustrated by tef. It was first published by Hobby Japan’s HJ Novels imprint on May 19, 2021, and has released 12 volumes as of April 2025. The series originated as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in April 2020.
J-Novel Club has licensed the light novels for digital release in English under the title Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon (with the complete English title being Backstabbed in a Backwater Dungeon: My Trusted Companions Tried to Kill Me, But Thanks to the Gift of an Unlimited Gacha I Got LVL 9999 Friends and Am Out For Revenge on My Former Party Members and the World).
A manga adaptation by Takafumi Oomae was launched in May 2021. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga for release in English.
