Naruto Card Game Unveils Initial Gameplay Insights, Card Designs Ahead of Summer 2027 Launch

Bandai has released the initial gameplay information for the upcoming NARUTO CARD GAME, offering fans a sneak peek at its rules, types of cards, artwork, and its roadmap leading up to the global launch in Summer 2027.

The announcement arrives ahead of the game’s public premiere at Gen Con 2026, where participants will have the chance to experience it firsthand. The game was initially revealed in June.

The TCG encompasses the entire NARUTO franchise, including characters and narratives from NARUTO, NARUTO: Shippuden, and BORUTO:NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS. Each player creates a deck centered around a Leader Card, utilizing a total of 51 cards, five Chakra cards, and one Summon card, aiming to deplete the opposing Leader’s Life to nothing.

Bandai has also detailed the game’s five types of cards:

  • Leader Cards determine a deck’s color and overall strategy.
  • Character Cards act as the main attackers and can utilize Jutsu by expending Chakra.
  • EX Character Cards are formidable units that can be played upon fulfilling specific criteria.
  • Chakra Cards serve as the resource system for activating Jutsu and supporting effects.
  • Summon Cards are essential for bringing Character cards into combat.

The initial card reveals present a combination of unique illustrations and visuals adapted from both the anime and manga. Early examples include Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Jiraiya, Itachi Uchiha, Orochimaru, and Tsunade, with some cards recreating iconic scenes while others display original manga artwork.

After its debut at Gen Con, the game will be featured at numerous significant events before its launch, including New York Comic Con, PAX Australia, Spiel Essen, Paris Games Week, Lucca Comics & Games, and Bandai Card Games Fest. More information is scheduled for December 2026, followed by in-store tutorial sessions starting in January 2027 ahead of the global release next summer.

Bandai has confirmed intentions for an organized competitive scene post-launch, ranging from local store events to larger tournaments culminating in a World Championship.

The NARUTO CARD GAME will have its first public showing during Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis from July 30 to August 2, where attendees can engage in free tutorial sessions and receive promotional items at the Bandai Card Games booth.
