A fresh visual has been revealed for the currently airing Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus TV anime series, just before its 11th episode set to air on September 13, 2025, which begins the “Santa Claus arc.” The series first debuted in Japan on July 5, 2025, and will consist of 13 episodes.
• Kaito Ishikawa as Sakuta Azusagawa
• Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima
• Reina Ueda as Miniskirt Santa/Toko Kirishima
• Sora Amamiya as Uzuki Hirokawa
The Rascal Does Not Dream franchise began in 2018 with the Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai TV series. It was followed by three films: 2019’s Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl and 2023’s Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus is the newest anime installment in the series, based on the supernatural teen/young adult drama light novels authored by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. The new series marks the inception of the anime’s adaptation of the “University Arc.”
The light novel series, published under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint, was first released on April 10, 2014, and concluded on October 10, 2024. A short story collection was also published in July 2025. The light novels inspired several manga adaptations, and Yen Press releases the light novels and manga adaptations in English.
Crunchyroll is streaming Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus globally, outside of Japan, and outlines the main storyline as:
