Anime enthusiasts can kick off the Summer season early with a special premiere of Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You, currently streaming on Crunchyroll.
In advance of the series’ official July simulcast launch, the first 12 mini-episodes of this much-anticipated slice-of-life anime are now available for streaming. These brief episodes are roughly 10 minutes long and present Episodes 1-6 of the forthcoming TV broadcast version in sequential order.
Drawn from the manga by Jinushi, Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You centers on Sasaki, a weary office worker whose routine visits to his local supermarket unexpectedly lead to a unique and heartfelt connection that begins to brighten his everyday existence.

Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You is set to officially premiere as part of Crunchyroll’s Summer anime lineup this July, with fresh episodes streaming weekly following the early mini-episode release.
Synopsis: Sasaki is an overworked salaryman navigating the corporate grind, powered by cigarettes and the cheerful service and smile of Yamada, the cashier at his favorite supermarket. However, one night after a tough shift, he arrives late to find Yamada absent. With no place left to smoke, his mood drops — until a pierced young woman calls out to him: “You can smoke here.”
