This article examines the population of Japan, which has been decreasing due to a low fertility rate and an aging population. It discusses whether or not Japan has a baby limit, why some have proposed imposing one, and what effects it would have on Japanese families. Alternatives to a baby limit are also discussed, such as increasing access to childcare services and providing greater financial incentives for couples who choose not exceed two or three kids.
