September 18, 2025 JST will witness the Japanese debut of Gotoubun no Princess ~Gensou to Shinen to Mahou Gakuin, a spin-off The Quintessential Quintuplets game that relocates the romantic comedy’s characters into a “dokidoki dungeon RPG.” The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 (for PS4, it will be a download-exclusive title).
Gotoubun no Princess ~Gensou to Shinen to Mahou Gakuin~ takes place in a magical realm where Futaro Uesugi and the Nakano quintuplets encounter each other at a magic academy. According to the announcement video for the game, the narrative commences with a wedding ceremony during which Futaro reflects on his academy days. Just like in the standard storyline, Futaro finds himself tutoring the Nakano sisters, although in this adaptation, they are daughters of the nation’s king.
The video also showcases the first-person dungeon exploration, which will lead the quintuplets through various settings such as caves and deserts, along with other mechanics. A segment of the gameplay involves merging items obtained from quests to create objects like magic gems, which can be utilized for wand customization. There are reportedly over 100 quests, and the story is claimed to be comparable in length to prior The Quintessential Quintuplets console titles.

The limited edition of Gotoubun no Princess ~Gensou to Shinen to Mahou Gakuen~ will come with a DVD-ROM of the game’s soundtrack, a 36-page special booklet, and a Blu-ray featuring an original Seven Arcs-produced anime inspired by the game. A special box edition will include these items alongside acrylic stands, can badges, a mini-script, a mini-storyboard collection, an alternate sleeve for the Blu-ray, and a case.

Additional information regarding the original animation and the game’s opening sequence (also created by Seven Arcs) will be disclosed in the July 2025 edition of Megami Magazine (set to release on May 30 JST).
Gotoubun no Princess ~Gensou to Shinen to Mahou Gakuin~ is the fourth console game in the The Quintessential Quintuplets series. Like its predecessors, it is developed by MAGES.
Previous console titles include The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer, The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You, and Gotoubun no Hanayome: Kanojo to Kawasu Itsutsu no Yakusoku. MAGES is also behind the Gotoubun no Hanayome: Goto Pazu Story games, which are console port adaptations of the enish-created mobile puzzle game Gotoubun no Hanayome: Itsutsugochan wa Puzzle o Gotoubun Dekinai.
