©2001 いしいしんじ/新潮社 ©2025映画「トリツカレ男」製作委員会Toritsukare Otoko tells the story of the love between Giuseppe, the titular character dubbed as such by the locals because of his singular focus on whatever captivates him at any given time, and the balloon vendor Pechka. After developing feelings for Pechka, Giuseppe seeks to alleviate her concerns with the assistance of Cielo, a rat he can converse with, alongside his acquired abilities.
The anime is adapted from the novel by Shinji Ishii, originally published in 2001 by Billiken, followed by a bunkoban edition from Shinchosha in 2006.
