Weekly Shonen Jump has introduced a new manga series entitled Otr of the Flame from The Hunters Guild: Red Hood creator Yuki Kawaguchi. The manga premiered in Japan in the magazine’s 24th issue this year on May 12, 2025.
The series is currently being simulpublished on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus service, the Shonen Jump app, and on VIZ Media’s Shonen Jump library. The first chapter is also available to read for free, at the time of writing.
Dan Luffey is responsible for the manga’s English translation and Sabrina Heep is in charge of its lettering.

MANGA Plus outlines the main synopsis of Otr of the Flame as:
The world is enveloped in winter due to the advances of the Ice Kingdom. Kind-hearted Otr, who aspires to be a warrior like his father, has been assigned the responsibility of maintaining the fires as a cook in the fortress. However, when the fortress is assaulted by the demonic army of the Ice Kingdom, both the people and the flame face the threat of being extinguished. Can Otr awaken a power that can change the outcome? A hero’s adventure of fire and ice is about to commence!
Kawaguchi’s debut series, The Hunters Guild: Red Hood, was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from June 28, 2021, to November 8, 2021, after first appearing as a one-shot on September 19, 2020. A total of three volumes were published during its run. It was released digitally in English on MANGA Plus, while VIZ offered the series in physical form.
