©魚豊・講談社／『ひゃくえむ。』製作委員会Kenjii Iwaisawa‘s (On–Gaku: Our Sound, the upcoming Hina is Beautiful) 100 METERS has received a “final” trailer ahead of its September 19 JST premiere.
The promotional push comes after a character trailer and several character visuals were shared last month. There was also collaboration videos with the upcoming World Athletics Championships 2025, set to take place in Tokyo.
100 METERS is an adaptation of Uoto‘s (Orb: On the Movements of the Earth) first serialized manga. GKIDS will distribute the film in North America in October and describes the story as follows:
100 METERS follows Togashi, a track star who is born to run. As a child, he is naturally gifted and wins every 100-meter race effortlessly. However, in sixth grade, he meets Komiya, a transfer student full of determination but lacking in technique. In teaching him, Togashi gives Komiya a new sense of purpose: to win at all costs. Years pass, and Togashi and Komiya meet again as rivals on the track, revealing their true selves.
