©あらゐけいいち・講談社／CITY THE ANIMATION 製作委員会A recent visual has been revealed for the current CITY The Animation, showcasing best friends Eri and Matsuri clasping hands in a vibrant flower field. This new visual was shared in anticipation of the series’ 13th and concluding episode scheduled to air in Japan on September 29, 2025. The anime initially debuted on July 6, 2025, with streaming available globally via Amazon Prime Video.
The original surreal comedy slice of life manga series by Nichijou‘s Keiichi Arawi was serialized in Kodansha’s Morning magazine between September 29, 2016, and February 4, 2021. Fourteen tankobon volumes have been published as of July 2025. After a three-year hiatus, the manga resumed serialization in the same magazine on December 12, 2024.

From Keiichi Arawi, the beloved creator of Nichijou, this surreal-slapstick series follows a broke college student, Midori Nagumo, residing in an ordinary city populated with not-so-ordinary individuals. As this reckless girl traverses the city, she sets it into motion.
Midori finds herself in a predicament. She is in debt, and her landlady is pressuring her for overdue rent. Her best friend has caught on and won’t lend her any money. Perhaps some bullying could assist. Or a touch of petty theft? Neither option is viable over the long term. Maybe obtaining a job would resolve her issues… But working means less time for fun escapades in the bustling city…

 is in charge of directing the anime series, with Tamami Tokuyama (character designer and animation director on the 2021 “Souzou-hen” commercial) serving as character designer and chief animation director, Kana Miyata (Nichijou, Beyond the Boundary) as color designer, Shiori Yamazaki (“Souzou-hen” background art) as background art director, Hiroki Ueda (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S) as composting director, Tatsunori Kase (Sound! Euphonium Season 3 assistant 3D director) as 3D director, and Yota Tsuruoka (Nichijou, MONOGATARI Series OFF & MONSTER Season) as sound director. The animation production is overseen by Kyoto Animation.<br />
