Horimiya Artist Daisuke Hagiwara’s New Manga Series, Koi to Yobu ni wa Sasayaka desu ga, Debuts in Shonen Gangan

Koi to Yobu ni wa Sasayaka desu ga, a new manga from Horimiya artist Daisuke Hagiwara, has begun serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan.

The cohabitation story follows Umi, a high school girl who’s entrusted to her neighbors the Hirois while her mother goes on a long business trip. The Hiroi family includes Shoya, who is eight years Umi’s senior and the object of her admiration. However, the current Shoya is not quite the one she remembers.

The new title debuted in the November 2025 issue of Monthly Shonen Gangan. It’s noted for being Hagiwara’s first original serialization (Horimiya was based on the webcomic by HERO).

Earlier this year, Hagiwara released the Raise wa Bishojo one-shot in Square Enix’s Monthly G-Fantasy.
