A second teaser trailer has been revealed for Firefly Wedding, a suspenseful new romantic drama anime set to premiere on Fuji TV (Japan) on October 9. The series is based on the original manga set in the Meiji era by Oreco Tachibana, which has sold over 4.5 million copies and was awarded the Electronic Comic Award 2024.
In addition to the new preview, it was announced that Kento Ito (Aqua in [Oshi no Ko]) will be voicing Kotaro Ogawa, the guardian of the show’s noblewoman protagonist, and Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami in Jujutsu Kaisen) will play Mitsueda. They join Lynn (Fuuka Akitsuki in Fuuka) as the heroine Satoko Kirgaya and Koki Uchiyama (Rin Itoshi in Blue Lock) as Shinpei Goto, the hitman who falls for her.
Synopsis: Satoko Kirigaya, the daughter of a count, was born into a noble family and blessed with beauty, but is said to have only a short time left to live. Her dream is to marry into a noble family and become her father’s pride. However, one night, she is kidnapped. Satoko tells a lie to Shinpei Goto, a hitman who happens to be there in this desperate situation, saying, “Let’s get married. If you are with me, you will have everything.” Shinpei is obsessively in love with Satoko, believing her to be his soulmate, but Satoko is torn between her duty and her feelings for Shinpei, resulting in a forbidden and unwavering love.
Firefly Wedding is directed by Takahiro Kamei (Urusei Yatsura, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind), with series composition and screenplay by Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries, Urusei Yatsura), character design by Yukiko Aikei (Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, Your Lie in April), music by NOGRID and animation by david production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Cells at Work!)
