Anime enthusiasts and cinema lovers should take note of October’s exciting news that Iconic Events Releasing and AMC Global Media’s HIDIVE will showcase the new 4K restoration of the highly regarded samurai film Ninja Scroll in theaters across North America. This limited engagement will take place on October 4, 5 & 7 throughout the U.S. and Canada, marking HIDIVE’s and Iconic Events Releasing’s second collaboration on Ninja Scroll following the successful 30th Anniversary re-release earlier in 2024.
A newly created 4K theatrical trailer for Ninja Scroll was unveiled in today’s announcement — check it out below!
Authored and helmed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri, Ninja Scroll was first launched in 1993 and has since earned its place as a crucial piece of anime history. The 4K restoration was crafted by AMC Global Media’s Sentai with Kawajiri overseeing the process, making its world debut at the 76th Annual Berlinale international film festival earlier this year. The digital master was developed from a 4K scan (3840 × 2160 pixels) of the original 35mm negative, meticulously repaired and color corrected.
