The forthcoming 4K re-release of Ninja Scroll (Jubei Ninpucho) has unveiled its official trailer, offering a fresh perspective on Yoshiyaki Kawajiri’s 1993 anime film ahead of its limited theatrical return in Japan this September.
The trailer also highlights Kawajiri’s dynamic direction, which played a pivotal role in establishing Ninja Scroll as one of the most significant action anime films of the 1990s. You can watch it below.
Set during Japan’s Sengoku period, Ninja Scroll follows the masterless swordsman Jubei as he teams up with Koga kunoichi Kagero to uncover a conspiracy orchestrated by the immortal Genma Himuro and his elite group of formidable warriors.

Additional participating theaters are expected to be announced later, and exclusive admission bonuses will also be available at select locations.
