©2026 林田球・小学館/『ドロヘドロ Season2 』製作委員会The first Dorohedoro season aired in 2020 and is available on Netflix. The sequel was confirmed in January 2024. This anime is adapted from the violent, Shogakukan-published fantasy manga by Q Hayashida, serialized from 2000 to 2018 and compiled into 23 tankobon volumes. Viz Media describes it as follows:
In a city so dismal it’s known only as “the Hole,” a clan of Sorcerers have been abducting people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for horrific “experiments” in the black arts. When Nikaido discovers Caiman, a man with a reptile head and severe amnesia, they embark on a mission to undo the curse by hunting and eliminating the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping to eventually confront the right one. However, when En, the chief Sorcerer, learns of a lizard-man slaying his followers, he dispatches a crew of “cleaners” into the Hole, sparking a war between two worlds.
Director Yuichiro Hayashi (Attack on Titan Final Season) and animation production studio MAPPA are also returning for the sequel. The first season’s staff includes Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan Final Season) as series composer and Yuki Nomoto as 3DCG director.
