(C)ひじき／リブレHijiki‘s Omegaverse Boys’ Love manga Hate Me, but Let Me Stay (Kiraide Isasete) has been adapted into a 30-second promotional anime by the skilled illustrator and animator RIRI Yamashita, who is experienced in the world of short-form animation.
The promotional video showcases the primary family at the center of the story — omega Koga Naoto, his alpha husband Tsuchiya Hazuki, their daughter Shizuku, and son Minato — featuring stunning animation and impressive post-processing. Supporting character Kotaro Asanaga makes an appearance against a backdrop of blooming roses and drifting petals.
This anime short was created to celebrate the Libre-published series’ circulation numbers, which surpassed 2.5 million. Besides Yamashita (credited for animation production), the staff credits include tori as assistant animator, with tori and hiroyoshi serving as background artists.
Hate Me, but Let Me Stay launched in 2019 as Hijiki’s commercial debut. It has seven volumes as of July 2025, a spin-off titled Kiraide Isasete: Mane to Otoha, and an English version brought out by Seven Seas Entertainment. The synopsis states:
A Boys’ Love omegaverse manga where love blossoms even in the darkest of times.
Since the assault that resulted in his unexpected pregnancy as a teenager, Koga Naoto, an omega, has held a profound fear and distrust of alphas. He even convinces himself that he does not need a mate. After all, hasn’t he successfully raised his daughter, Shizuku, by himself?
Nevertheless, at the urging of his worried mother, Naoto hesitantly goes to a matchmaking party. There he encounters Tsuchiya Hazuki, a teenage alpha who claims that Naoto is his destined mate. Naoto attempts to fend off the young man’s advances, but he cannot ignore the feelings that arise in Hazuki’s presence. Can Naoto confront his fear and accept that maybe, just maybe, he might not hate this particular alpha?
