Japanese rock band KANA-BOON has made its comeback with the latest track “SUPERNOVA,” the opening theme for the second cour of the TV anime Dr. Stone Science Future. The song is now available on several music streaming platforms. The second cour of the long-running anime series began broadcasting in Japan on July 10, 2025.
“SUPERNOVA” was specifically written for the second cour of Dr. Stone Science Future, accompanied by a music video featuring the band that has also been released.

Dr. Stone: Science Future‘s first cour debuted in Japan on January 9, 2025 and continued for 12 episodes until March 27, 2025. This marks the final season of the Dr. Stone anime adaptation, which consists of three split cours.
The first season of Dr. Stone was released in 2019, followed by the second season of Stone Wars in 2021. The third season, Dr. Stone: New World, commenced its first cour in April 2023 and its second cour in October 2023.
The anime is adapted from the adventure science fiction manga authored by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, which was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from March 6, 2017 to March 7, 2022, culminating in a total of 27 tankobon volumes. VIZ Media publishes the manga series in English.
Crunchyroll has streamed all prior seasons of Dr. Stone and describes the second cour of Science Future as:
After the battle on Treasure Island, Senku and the gang return to the Kingdom of Science. With their eyes set on the Moon, they must first journey to the Americas aiming to acquire the necessary materials. Through cooperation and scientific endeavors, they continue their quest to save humanity once and for all!
