© Harold Sakuishi/ Kodansha Ltd. During its panel at Anime NYC 2025, Kodansha USA revealed three additional new print manga licenses set for release in Fall 2026. Among the new printed manga series are the coming-of-age music drama BECK and the manga memoir My Journey to Her.
Here are the specifics about the new print series from Kodansha USA:
My Journey To Her
Story and Art: Yuna Hirasawa
Release Date: Fall 2026
Synopsis:
In this standalone manga, trans author Yuna Hirasawa recounts her experience living with gender dysphoria, as well as her journey from Japan to Thailand for her gender-affirming surgery in 2015. She delves into issues like coming out to her family and the isolation of traveling to a new country—all while depicting the legal and medical aspects of her transition.
After completing university, Yuna spent many years feeling unfulfilled while working in an office. That changed one day when she received a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, which opened new avenues for her. As she undertakes medical treatments and experiments with makeup and clothing, she realizes how lonely and challenging the transition process can be. However, in 2015, when Yuna travels to Thailand for her gender-affirming surgery, the encouragement from her siblings, newfound friends, and documenting her journey through manga assists in her healing in numerous ways. Presented in an authentic and at times humorous voice, this memoir fuses manga and detailed prose, not shying away from delicate subjects like suicidal thoughts, transphobia, and the simultaneous struggles and joys of gender-affirming surgery.
