© STPR Inc.／劇場版「遠井さん」製作委員会A fresh main visual has been revealed for the forthcoming Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! “Baka to Smartphone to Romance to” anime film, showcasing numerous lead characters. The film is set to premiere in Japan on July 18, 2025.
Crunchyroll News outlines the main synopsis of Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! as:
The narrative of Toi-san centers around Akane Toi, a high school girl referred to by her peers as “Toi-san.” Toi-san aims for a typical high school experience, but on her initial day, she encounters a striking boy named Jel. Although Toi-san believes her school life is about to turn into a romance, both Jel and her classmates are so quirky and eccentric that each day morphs into a comedic series filled with stand-up routines and skits! Within the film, Toi-san becomes a member of the enigmatic “Youth Romance Club,” which aims to discover “youthful” and “romantic” experiences.

 is helming the Toi-san wa Seishun Shitai! anime film, with Yoichi Kato (Yo-Kai Watch, Duel Masters) serving as screenwriter, Akemi Kobayashi (Love After World Domination) as character designer, STPR MUSIC and AniTone providing music, Hiromi Mizutani (Non Non Biyori) composing background music, and Haru Yamada (Suzume, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-) as sound director. Seven Arcs is managing the animation production.<br />
The film’s voice cast is led by Strawberry Prince member Jel, who will portray himself and Akane Toi. He is also responsible for the film’s main theme song “Mecchya Toi! feat. Jel & Toi-san.”<br />
Jel plays a key role in the planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, and character designing for the film. STPR Records and Dentsu are credited for the film’s overall production. Strawberry Prince leader Nanamori will oversee planning and is acting as executive producer. Shochiku is in charge of the film’s distribution across Japan.<br />
The Toi-san comedy short video series launched with a video released on Twitter/X in April 2019. The series has spurred over 1,000 videos, amassing more than 10 billion views on YouTube, TikTok, and other social media platforms. It has also inspired an official English study book and a novel.<br />
Strawberry Prince (also known as StPri) previously inspired their own film titled Strawberry Prince the Movie from LIDENFILMS, which debuted in Japanese theaters on July 19, 2024. It will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll later this summer.
