The Matsurika Kanriden light novel series is set to be adapted into a TV anime.

This announcement arrives just before the 18th volume of the light novels is released on October 15 JST.

Styled as a “Chinese Cinderella story,” Matsurika Kanriden follows the journey of the female lead, Matsurika, who is a court lady in the rear palace with an extraordinary memory. Her remarkable memory captures the attention of the emperor Hakuyo, who instructs her to take the Imperial exam.

The light novel is crafted by Rinne Ishida with illustrations by Izumi. It is published by KADOKAWA under the B’s-LOG Bunko banner, with the first volume being released in 2017.
